The word “property” has been derived from the Latin word proprietary, which means a thing owned. Property law is that area of law that governs and regulates the ownership of a certain property. It consists of policies and rules by way of which disputes over a property can be resolved and property transactions may be structured. A property can be termed as any object, whether tangible or intangible having an essential characteristic of a value being attached to it.
